Role Summary:

We are in search of an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team on a 12-month, fixed-term contract with the potential for full-time hire. This role directly reports to the Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain at Marshall Aerospace. This position is crucial to provide operational leadership, delivery management, and functional expertise to maximize productivity and deliver a world-class customer experience.

The establishment of our dedicated maintenance facility at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is scheduled to be fully operational by Q1 2025, will create up to 240 jobs. Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Designing a supply chain suitable for meeting all quality, delivery and cost requirements of the business
  • Identify all supplier & supplier risks and develop the necessary mitigation activities
  • Undertake all sourcing activities in line with Marshall Aerospace processes and tools
  • Ensuring all suppliers engaged, and ultimately selected, comply to the required quality standards and can demonstrate a commitment to ESG and CSR targets
  • Ensure sourcing is done in compliance to the relevant category strategies and plans
  • Establish standard work that is consistent with the global Marshall BMS and ensure orders are placed and approved as required in the Marshall Aerospace ERP system
  • Support existing program reporting requirements
  • Work with Buyers to ensure Purchase Orders are placed in a timely manner and work to ensure that all deliveries by suppliers are made on time to ensure the mobilization program is delivered successfully
  • Input to budgets, forecasts and hold responsibility for them
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports/metrics of performance for management review
  • Drive overall root cause analysis and corrective actions within the business and measure these effectively


Please apply if you have most of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field is strongly preferred; equivalent vocational qualifications will also be considered
  • Background in International procurement and USA specific sourcing and supplier management
  • Knowledge and experience to drive best practice in the way suppliers are chosen, screened for diligence and compliance, loaded to the systems and managed
  • Strong analytical capability (supply chain, operational and financial)
  • Articulate and confident in working within a dispersed global team
  • Skilled at working across different businesses and regional cultures
  • Strong team player able to work and contribute as part of the wider Marshall Aerospace procurement function
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clarity situations that require honesty and candor
  • Strong process and problem-solving orientation
  • Agility and comfort with ambiguity
  • Results-driven approach
  • Resilient, optimistic and open to change


It would be ideal if you have:
  • A professional Procurement certification (e.g. MCIPS accreditation or similar) is preferred but not vital dependent upon demonstrated Supply Chain leadership experience
  • Experience with Aviation procurement and/or supply chain
  • Previous military experience in a similar role
