Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The idealcandidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have adesire and ability to work with a diverse population.This is a part-time, non-unit position withno benefits.

This position coaches, supervises and develops anintercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming,in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rulesand regulations of the athletic governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan,strategize, and oversee all practices and scheduled contests to provide apositive and competitive experience for student athletes;
  • Developa recruitment plan to identify and enroll student athletes that willcreate and sustain a successful, competitive athletic program;
  • Establishteam rules and protocols and implement appropriately;
  • Fosterthe personal development and competitive spirit of the student athleteswhile supporting their educational experience;
  • Emphasizeand promote academic progress, resulting in strong academic performance,retention and graduation rates;
  • Provideteam supervision at all off-campus competitions. Interpret and implementthe rules and regulations of the team, the department, and the college;
  • Representthe college and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g.competitions, conferences, and college-sanctioned programs such as openhouses);
  • Assistwith game day set-up and breakdown;
  • Compilegame statistics and assist with entries into presto stats system;
  • Performother duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Recruiting experience.

PreferredQualifications:
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
  • Experience working in a diverse environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
  • Experience coaching at the collegiate level;
  • Experience as a golfer.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $6,000 per season

Position Type: Part Time Employee
