**This is a Full Time 40hr a week position**

**THE POSITION:**

The Surgery Inventory and Equipment Specialists main responsibilities are to create and maintain appropriate inventory stocks; To source, maintain and repair specialist equipment needed by the surgery and anesthesia departments of the MSPCA-Angell Boston hospital and to troubleshoot and repair equipment when in use.

Some of the duties include:

* Order and maintain inventory of equipment: to include (but not limited to) all surgical equipment and minimum/maximum stock levels. E.g. gas and steam sterilizers, oxygen and nitrogen tanks, CO2 lasers, laparoscopic/arthroscopic towers and equipment, anesthesia machines, multiparameter monitors, ventilators, operating tables, cautery units, smoke evacuators, convective warming devices (Bair huggers), Hot dog warmers, water blankets, IV fluid pumps, syringe pumps, clippers, etc.

* Order and maintain inventory of supplies: to include (bot not limited to) all surgery supplies and minimum/ maximum stock levels. E.g. surgical plates, screws, fracture sets, specialty sets, laparoscopic/arthroscopic sets, surgical gowns, surgical packs, suture material, cleaning supplies, pharmaceuticals, etc.

* Research products requested by managers and doctors to obtain the best fit equipment and instrumentation for the department and hospital.

* Work as on the floor equipment specialist, resolving equipment malfunctions ensuring a smooth flow of the day.

* Work on the clinical floor as a surgery assistant or technician when needed.

**APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:**

We are looking for applicants with at least 3 years of surgical exclusive experience. Experience with inventory management and maintenance is preferred. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
