Hotel Houseperson

Housekeeping is one of the most important departments in the Lakehouse Hotel and The Links, as keeping a high standard of overall cleanliness throughout the property is of utmost importance. The department ensures that luxury invites our guests to relax and stay awhile, providing our team with the opportunity to provide impeccable service. The Houseperson will assist in janitorial support, respond to guests' requests, and identify & report preventative maintenance issues and safety concerns in rooms or on the property. They are required to maintain a clean and clutter-free work environment for efficiency and safety. Provide customer service to guests who have special requests in the immediate area. Must be able to communicate clearly and quickly respond to constantly changing priorities.

Requirements

The duties of a Houseperson will include, but are not limited to the following:?

• Strip rooms of dirty linens and trash before the housekeeper cleans rooms.
• Responsible for keeping the housekeepers' carts stocked with needed linens, toiletries, and amenities throughout shift.
• In charge of the upkeep and restocking of storage closets.
• Ensuring all proper inventory is in rooms once the housekeeper is finished cleaning prior to being inspected.
• Be able and willing to assist in basic cleaning needs such as: vacuuming, moping, dusting, changing linens and making beds, washing, and sanitizing bathrooms, administering concentrated chemicals as needed, and participating in detailing work and/or deep cleans.
• Fulfilling in-house or arriving guest's needs or special requests.
• Being knowledgeable about chemical products used and knowing how to properly use any cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other cleaning tools.

CORE COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and supplies
• Always maintain the cleanliness and organization of the department
• Able to carry and lift 50 pounds daily.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Stand and walk throughout the shift for up to eight working hours.
• Be a team player.
• Ability to finish tasks with a high degree of quality and in a timely manner.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business demands.
• Driver's License required.
