Summary
The Seasonal Property Specialist assists in the overall maintenance, organization, keeping of grounds, and custodial work throughout camp.
Under the general direction of the Property Manager, the overall responsibility of this position is to assist with the safe and smooth operation of property structures, amenities, and grounds so that all have a successful experience at our properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform exterior and interior repairs, maintenance, and custodial work on camp buildings and structures.
- Perform repair and maintenance on equipment, including docks, bikes, outdoor power equipment, and other equipment utilized in the operation of the camp.
- Perform seasonal grounds and road work, including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, and road maintenance.
- Perform regular inspections of HVAC equipment and perform air filter changes.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities - Support the council's commitment to diversity of girls, volunteers, and staff and conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the council. Actively participate in All Staff meetings, staff in-service training, and other meetings.
- When representing the council to both internal and external audiences, articulate GSRV's desired image and position to all audiences.
- Contribute to building a cohesive, flexible, and productive staff environment that demonstrates the values and mission of Girl Scouts and delivers high-quality customer service.

QualificationsEducation and Experience - High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year of related maintenance experience.
Qualifications- At Least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive council vehicles safely.
Knowledge and Skills - Read instructions and use maintenance and cleaning-related products/chemicals according to manufacturers' instructions.
- Understand best practices for maintaining and cleaning different surfaces and facility spaces.
- Ability to relate to youth and adults positively.
- Ability to work with all people without regard to race, age, religion, sexual orientation, or social, ethnic, and economic background.

- Sufficient eye-to-hand coordination to successfully operate a computer keyboard.
- Ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
- Sufficient visual acuity to make appropriate judgments regarding Girl Scout materials.
- Ability to travel to and/or attend offsite meetings.
- Physical ability to frequently stop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, lift, and move objects up to 50 pounds at shoulder height, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated normal depth perception.
- See and read printed materials, with or without visual aids; distinguish colors; read and understand rules and policies, labels and instructions.
- Verbal communication including the ability to speak and hear at normal room levels.
