**Warehouse Assistant (Evening Shift)**

**Department:** Warehouse Operations **Location:** Tucson, AZ

**Function:** Under the supervision of the Production Manager, this position is primarily responsible for support warehouse operations with cardboard disposal through the collecting of excess production cardboard and baling it for shipment to the recycling center. The position also supports general production operations, warehouse housekeeping, shipping, and receiving functions as needed.

**Work Schedule is Monday through Friday 1:30Pm-9:30pm**

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Perform general warehouse housekeeping functions, including the operation of a motorized floor cleaning machine.

* Unload and load trucks as needed using standard warehouse power equipment, including electric pallet jack and forklift.

* Tag and store product according to CFB practices.

* Assist with monthly inventory as needed.

* Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all health codes and standards applicable to food acquisition, storage and distribution.

* Maintain good housekeeping practices in all assigned areas daily, including baler area, warehouse area, walk-in coolers, and equipment.

* Perform related duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Experience with forklift and pallet jack operations preferred but not required will train

* Ability to become forklift and pallet jack certified within 30 days of employment

* Food handling and food safety experience preferred but not required will train

* Ability to achieve food safety certification within 30 days of employment

* Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 70 pounds

* Able to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment

* Strong communication, listening, people and customer service skills

* Ability to interact professionally with staff and the public; possess high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

* Effective planning and organizational skills

* Understanding and empathy for the needs of the economically and educationally disadvantaged

**Work Environment:**

This position is subject to:

* Outside environmental conditions. No protection from the weather conditions.

* Inside and outside environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and out.

* Noise - there is sufficient noise to cause the need to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

* Vibration Exposure to oscillating movements.

* Hazards Including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and moving vehicles.

* This position is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
