Job Purpose

Lead and oversee all aspects and activities of PEBU Frame Equipment Workload with primary focus in Weld, Assembly, and Paint departments. Department focus is approximately 45% Weld, 30% Assembly, 15% Paint, and 10% other departments. Create, maintain and utilize indices to formulate and summarize unit level long-term workload. Propose and implement the maker-layout strategy to align resources with the overall business unit strategy. Rotate PDCA on Short-Term Workload by providing workload versus capacity analysis on a monthly basis to DL s, UL s and GL s. Based on analysis, propose countermeasures and gain consensus for necessary action to align resources with project requirements. Gain consensus and set maker layout monthly.




Key Accountabilities


  • Using engineering expertise, lead, establish and implement strategies to improve the operating characteristics and standardization of the workload system under assigned Unit or as Regional Operations (RO)/BU Function
  • As the Workload Expert, lead and manage the monthly workload process including setting maker layout (GO/RO/Suppliers) with consideration for technical challenges, schedule and internal and external capacity analysis. Provide quick countermeasure to systemic issues within the process.
  • Ensure workload and capacity planning includes considerations of HDMA strategic direction via MSS, PEBU capacity, and the MMC operational objectives.
  • Correlate PEBU capacity with PEBU Manpower Controller to ensure alignment of resources and workload.
  • Provide visual image of workload vs capacity with completed analysis that PEBU leadership can utilize for operational planning.
  • Set maker layout monthly by gaining consensus within the organization and project teams considering a wide range of business and technical factors.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills


Education:

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Business or other relevant degree or equivalent work experience

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering organization within frame equipment. Experience in one department of weld, assembly, or paint is required.

Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience in a people leadership role would be beneficial.
  • Experience in multiple departments is desired.



Workstyle


  • Hybrid position, located at Genpo site with expectation of being on-site as the primary work location
  • Estimated 80% Office and 20% Virtual
  • Travel as required to other PEBU locations or Honda facilities
