System Engineer - Autonomous System Test and Platform Management

DCS develops Army Robotics Common Software (ARCS), which is the Ground Vehicle Systems Center's (GVSC) library of modular software package that can be used for common ground autonomy software. The United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), located in Warren, Michigan, is the United States Armed Forces research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. GVSC is dedicated to getting robotics capability into the hands of Soldiers.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for test coordination of weekly/quarterly/yearly software testing events on target platform (vehicle)

Lead platform configuration management: coordinate hw, sw, firmware, electrical, network etc. architecture of the platforms the team uses

Collaborate with other entities who have use of the platform, help with schedule, deconflict, escalations and other collaborative tasks

Collaborate to have necessary on-vehicle safety, as well as rules of the test locations are followed as per the guidelines

Act as an integration and test engineer to collect data for robotic operating system based autonomous ground vehicle systems.

Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must obtain Secret clearance.
BS in Mechanical or related engineering, or applied science field with 8 years of experience, or MS with 6 experience implementing system engineering best practices, with a focus on on-vehicle application engineering

Able to show how can you be a go getter with examples of proactiveness and positivity used to accomplish tasks

Basic knowledge of vehicle controls, sensors, autonomous systems, and functional safety.
Desired Skills:

Experience in robotics and autonomous systems.
Experience with understanding of behavior, planning, and motion control of a robotic system.
