This position is located at US Mint,Philadelphia Mint-MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT/Plant Manager PA/Office of Administration. As a/an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration and accountability of the Philadelphia Mint's property management system.

**Duties**

As a/an Inventory Management Specialist, you will:

* Develop, and update local policy, plans, directives and procedures governing the Mint's property management system; provide guidance on all aspects of the system to ensure that it functions in accordance with the established laws, rules and regulations.

* Consult with supervisors and managers to identify problems and/or discrepancies pertinent to the accountability of property; conduct required investigations and formulate corrective actions; periodically evaluate and analyze the property management system and identify functional deficiencies and determine the required improvements.

* Prepare required accountability and property management records and reports; promote the rehabilitation and use of mint property; insure that mint property is released and disposed of in accordance with established laws, rules and regulations.

** Qualifications**

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

**Specialized Experience:**

For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for this position includes:

-Assisting with developing policies, plans and procedures governing a property management system; AND

-Monitoring inventories to identify problems and making recommendations for improvement; AND

-Maintaining inventory control records using automated material management systems in a manufacturing environment.

**OR Education:**

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR

LL.M., if related.

**OR Combination of experience and education:**

You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education **Education**
