**Industrial Painter**
Harbor Fab Winnsboro, Texas Minimum Experience **Experienced** General Purpose of the Position:
Accomplishes company objectives by coating and painting large structural steel assemblies and custom steel fabrication.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Ensure all operations set industry standards for safety (by OSHA & EPA standards)
- Prepare and Set-up/blast with sand, shot, or grit
- Utilize a variety of spraying devices airless and air powered sprayers
- Achieve/maintain consistent DFT
- Follow SSPC painting practices
- Apply high build epoxies according to project specifications
- Clean and maintain associated compressors and spray rigs.
- Operate all associated paint/compressor equipment including guns, hoppers and collection systems
- Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
- Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or
by using viscometers
- Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments
- Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with
company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
- Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
- Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures
- Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment
- Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Required Training and Certifications:
Coating Application Specialist Certification(s) from SSPC are helpful and will be encouraged.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required 1-3 years of relevant paint experience
