Function/Duties of Position

The HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study at OHSU is conducting studies with pregnant people and their children in the areas of neurodevelopment, behavior, learning, environmental factors, substance exposure, and cognitive functioning under the direction of Principle Investigators, Alice Graham, Ph.D. and Elinor Sullivan, Ph.D. We have an opening for an energetic and highly motivated full-time Clinical Research Assistant 2. Duties for this complex study will include running data collection visits with participants, recruitment of participants, coordination of visit scheduling, and consenting participants for the study. Data collection will focus on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data collection visits, and will include biological sample collection. Data collection occurs frequently during the evening and on weekends so scheduling flexibility is important. Other data collection visits may include questionnaire collection and other assessments. Duties also include preparing and processing materials needed for each research visit, filing, copying, data processing and other general duties in support of the goals of the study. The candidate will also attend weekly laboratory staff meetings with the PIs and senior staff members.

Essential qualifications include multi-tasking, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, timely manner. Skilled at oral, email, and written communication. Previous experience working with infants and young children is preferred. Experience with MRIs and biological samples is also beneficial. Intermediate computer experience with Word and Excel is preferred. Interest in mental health, health care, and addiction treatment desired. The candidate will be required to perform weekend and evening work to complete the study's goals.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree with major courses in field of research, OR

* Associate degree and 2 years of relevant experience, OR

* 3 years of relevant experience OR

* Equivalent combination of training and experience

* Basic computer and office related skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Very strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree or major studies in Psychology or Biology or a related field.

* Previous experience working with infants and young children desired. Previous experience working in a research setting, and/or with MRI and biological samples is preferred.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred. Knowledge about infant and child development and/or human subjects research preferred.

* Ability to speak Spanish conversationally preferred.
