**Job Description:**

The Director of Inventory will oversee all areas of supply and fulfilment within the service network including procurement, inventory control, Help Desk operations, Packed Promise program administration and other operational administration. The primary objectives for this position are to ensure that daily product and supply levels will meet partner agency and program demand; develop and maintain strong business relationships with supply chain partners; manage the administrative aspects of program performance and provide support to the Warehouse, Transportation and Volunteer Operations teams.

**Essential Functions:** The duties and responsibilities of this position will be performed in alignment with the Regional Food Banks core values of Vitality, Innovation and Stewardship.

**Inventory Control**

* Oversee inventory control staff to manage inventory systems (WMS and Navision) and ensure appropriate processes of product receipt, ordering, pulling and shipments to reflect accurate inventory values.

* Support the preparation, completion and reporting of annual physical inventory, and lead any externally driven audits and supporting documentation.

* Provide direction for inventory creation functions of the Volunteer Center, Protein Packing Center, Hopes Kitchen and Recovery to schedule appropriate projects according to current inventory availability and needs.

**Procurement**

* Develop procurement strategies to maximize product value to the customer while minimizing overall expenditures of product cost, freight and value added processing (VAP).

* Establish, maintain and leverage relationships with donors and vendors.

* Evaluate sourcing processes to improve demand planning and timely and accurate inventory availability.

* Anticipate and report on supply chain issues as well as any mitigating solutions initiated to minimize impact to operations or program fulfilment.

* Oversee Help Desk customer service, error resolution and development to continually improve Operations communication and effectiveness to partners.

* Monitor and track progress in Help Desk customer service effectiveness and data accumulation.

* Work closely with peers in Operations to provide feedback and recommendations for improvement based on data and issues identified through Help Desk interactions.

**Programs & Support**

* Primary point of contact for program integration with Operations, such as Chickasaw Nation and Community Impact.

* Develop and maximize staff performance to increase bench strength, capability across all functions, ensure alignment of decisions and to cultivate a healthy and effective work environment.

* Work closely with Chief Operations Officer to help plan and execute short and long-term strategies.

**Education and Work Experience:**

* Five or more years of experience in industry and related tasks

* High school diploma or GED required

* Higher education preferred

* Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills, with great attention to detail.

* Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills.

* Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and inventory experience required.

**Physical Demands:**

* The physical demands of the position will vary from sedentary to light work with certain tasks requiring travel into the warehouse and freezer.

* Utilize multi-limb coordination and flexibility combined with control precision to perform fine motor skills including finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, arm-hand steadiness, in order to push, pull or lift objects

* Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

* Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the Regional Food Banks Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

**Work Environment:**

* Work generally performed in an office environment.

* Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training.

* The work environment will vary from no exposure to limited exposure to temperature extremes.

* Environmentally controlled with no exposure to extreme changes in the weather, and limited exposure to humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations.

* Minimal exposure to extreme temperature changes from travel between freezers, coolers and the warehouse environment.
