** Coordinator, Merchandise Payment**

New **POSITION TITLE:** Coordinator, Merchandise Payment * Review, monitor and process daily first cost payment volume, ensuring funding is effected by the due date to meet the contractual obligation of the merchandise purchase order.
* Resolve all vendor documentation issues timely by working with all required parties to achieve accurate, consistent data between the purchase order and commercial invoice.
* Ensure deduction of all related supplier charge backs.
* Identify repeated issues of non-compliance to drive performance improvement leading to a friction free process and reduction in invoice related charge backs assessed. Communicate pertinent issues to the Merchandise Payment Analyst and Manager
* Work with banking partners, AEO Treasury and Accounting to ensure that data transmissions are accurate, streamlined and encompass all needs for seamless funding of merchandise payments.
* Identify process improvement needs; work closely with the Merchandise Payment Analyst to support the execution of enhancements.
* Understand key performance metrics and confirm that data portrays an accurate picture of the status of current and outstanding payables to identify lags in the process for additional supplier coaching as needed.
* Be agile in decision-making, considering risk mitigation while collaborating with Accounting and Treasury to ensure positive cash flow management.
* Actively participate in the onboarding of new suppliers, provide training on all first cost related processes to encourage compliance to maintain an efficient standard process and communicate any outliers to AEO Sourcing team.
* Work with Trade & Regulatory to positively affect the customs clearance process while managing Vendor Referrals associated to merchandise shipments in a supporting/ back up function.
* Maintain and create all internal and external SOPs for payment related processes, updating as needed but no less than two times per year.
* Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field
* 2-4 years experience in supply chain accounting operations; analytics
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills; ability to identify trends within large data sets and make recommendations based on analysis
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to explain required processes and problems to internal and external partners to arrive at workable solutions

**P** **OSITION SUMMARY:** As a Merchandise Payment Coordinator at AEO, Inc., you will be a key member of the Operational Support team and provide support and validation of $1.25+ billion in annual merchandise payments. You will be responsible for assessing and optimizing auditing processes that drive efficiency to meet AEOs contractual goals while reducing risk and improving compliance across the entire supplier base.
