Silver Maples of Chelsea is looking to hire a Resident Care Associate Intern for the 2024-2025 academic year!

This internship is a cooperative education program with the South & West Washtenaw Consortium (SWWC) whereby students receive school high school credit for a work-based learning experience at Silver Maples. This is a paid position with a 10-12 hourly weekly minimum requirement to receive credit.

As the employer, Silver Maples is providing students with occupational experience, training and evaluation of being a Resident Care Associate, a position that help our residents remain as independent as possible by providing some basic care and medication management. Our Resident Care Associates assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs which enables the resident to maintain good personal hygiene, to carry out activities of daily living, to maintain good health and to participate in the activities of the community while always emphasizing the residents independence, safety, dignity, privacy, and respect.

Interns receive credit for graduation, acquire and refine skills, gain experience and knowledge and become employable in a high demand profession!

Requirements

  • Must be a student in good standing with the SWWC Health Sciences Program
  • Must express and demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Must interact with guest, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.


Minimum Work Hours Required:

3-Four (4) Hour Shifts Per Week (Minimum of 12 hours Per Week)

One Weekend Shift Per Month (Sat or Sun-8 Hours)
