Maintenance Supervisor - Grand Rapids


Job Details

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 3rd shift - Sunday through Thursday 10:00pm-6:30am; Friday night overtime probable
  • Support the supervision of the maintenance department in all disciplines of plant operation including machine repair, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, PLC Programming, refrigeration, etc.
  • Participate in determining priorities for all maintenance work conducted on site during current shift.
  • Maintain equipment integrity by determining up-grades/repairs needed, ordering replacement parts through Maintenance Support personnel and tracking service records to implement annual upkeep.
  • Ensure human safety excellence for maintenance team and production population.
  • Participate in the development of processes to minimize product safety incident exposure.
  • Distribute maintenance work orders to technicians.
  • Support the development of an effective maintenance team and maximize machine uptime.
  • Sustain an effective and progressive preventative maintenance process.
  • Work with production to identify equipment machine ability, setup, etc.
  • Coach, teach and train on skill development of employees in the department.
  • Support sanitation and safety procedures post repair.
  • Complete required preventive maintenance in timely manner.
  • Provide support to the other departments as needed.
  • Training on machines, processes, safety, etc. for facility employees.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Participate in plant audit and inspection preparation.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to stand for majority of shift.
  • Be able to read and write English.
  • Be able to read and understand formulas and other instructions.
  • Be able to work in high ambient temperatures.
  • Be able to perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, climbing of machinery and/or tooling.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • BS/BA Degree preferred.
    • Certification in a technical field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum three (3) years experience in maintenance and/or production with progressive responsibility.
    • Experience with electrical, plumbing, conveyors, motors/gearboxes, and reading schematics/blue prints.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
