Job Overview:
As a Sports Field Setup Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining sports fields to ensure optimal playing conditions. This role involves a combination of physical labor, technical skills, and attention to detail to create a safe and enjoyable environment for athletes and spectators. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, knowledge of various sports field requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Field Preparation:
    • Set up and mark sports fields according to specific requirements for different sports (soccer, football, baseball, etc.).
    • Install goalposts, nets, and other equipment as needed.
    • Ensure that field dimensions and markings comply with regulatory standards.
  2. Turf Maintenance:
    • Perform routine turf care tasks, including mowing, aerating, and fertilizing.
    • Repair and patch damaged areas of the field to maintain a consistent playing surface.
    • Monitor and address issues such as uneven terrain and drainage problems.
  3. Equipment Operation:
    • Operate and maintain field preparation equipment and line-marking.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  4. Logistics and Planning:
    • Coordinate with event organizers and sports teams to understand specific field setup requirements.
    • Develop and follow a schedule for field preparation and maintenance, taking into account different sports seasons and events.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during field setup activities.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for sports field preparation.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with groundskeeping and maintenance teams to address broader facility needs.
    • Communicate effectively with other staff members and management to coordinate tasks and share information.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in sports field setup, turf management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of different sports field requirements and dimensions.
  • Ability to operate and maintain field preparation equipment.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for manual labor and outdoor work.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical demands, including lifting, bending is required.
  • Work Hours are going to be weekend mornings, some weekday evening to accommodate sports event schedules.

Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
