Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper.
The Tool Room Attendant will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the machine shop tool room. This role will also ensure personnel in the machine shop have the proper tools to complete assigned tasks.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Organize and maintain a functional, clean and well-organized machine shop tool room.
* Provide proper tools for machinist.
* Regrind drills as needed.
* Collect and return tooling from machines not being utilized.
* Aid in the purchase of needed tools including replacement tools.
* Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
* High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
* Minimum of two years of general assistant experience in a large machinery/equipment-manufacturing environment strongly desired.
* Basic mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure required.
* Knowledge of machining procedures and the use of micrometers, calipers, and gaugespreferred
* Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus
* Valid state driver's license in good standing is required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations required.
* Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
* Basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
* Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
* Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
