**Day Warehouse Associate**
**Department:** RECEIVING **Location:** Detroit, MI
**JOB SUMMARY:** The Day Warehouse Associate at Preferred Produce is a crucial team member that helps to ensure our customers receive the best quality produce possible. A successful Warehouse Associate has a strong work ethic, great attention to detail, works well within a team, is proactive in seeking ways to help teammates and overall productivity, is driven by quality assurance, is extremely reliable, and is highly flexible in terms of work schedules and assignments. Warehouse Associates report directly to the Receiving Manager.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Put away incoming product while rotating stock according to organizational standards
* Prepares/pulls orders referencing pick sheets; packing boxes; placing orders designated area
* Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
* Demonstrate attention to detail for product quality and accuracy by identifying damaged, decay or missing product and notify supervisor immediately
* Understand the expectations of workplace safety
* Be a good communicator with your team members and management
* Report any and all issues to management
* Perform other warehouse duties as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Basic reading, writing, communications, computer and math skills are necessary
* Detail Oriented
* A basic knowledge of produce and how to determine quality is highly preferred
* Must have the ability to multi-task and to work well within a team
* Ability to operate typical warehouse machinery and tools and willingness to become certified operating a forklift
* Must be able to work flexible hours depending on the work load
* Must have manual dexterity and be able to continuously lift 70 lbs, safely reach product as tall as 6 feet high and work standing up for 8+ hours per day
* Must be able to work in a refrigerated cooler at 35 degrees
