Principal Project Manager - Aviation


Job Details

We are looking to hire a Principal Project Manager (Engineer or Architect) in Aviation with a minimum of 15 years of experience in airport / transportation infrastructure projects. The position s primary responsibility will be managing projects, and possible multi-disciplinary teams for programs covering a diverse range of services involving all components of an airport including landside, terminals, and airside development.Specific responsibilities will include:Project Management:External facing - Client management and customer focusInternal facing:

Ability to assist with or develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgetsAbility to manage internal staff to complete work on-time and within budget, including interfacing with teams working on other airport programs/projectsCoordinate design and construction activities with airport clients, consultants, stakeholders, and airlinesTechnical mentorship of younger staff

Other:Represent Mott MacDonald within both the region and nationally at industry events

Take an active role and participation in US aviation industry trade organizations (ACC, ACI, AAAE, ASCE, etc.); including presentation of papers and publications.

Work with the Aviation Practice Leader, as well as the East and West Aviation Practice Leaders, in identifying future pursuits (typically a minimum 9-12 moths out), utilizing the candidate s industry contacts and relationships.Ability to identify potential regional staff as necessary to support and grow the aviation practiceAbility to lead and/or support and respond to marketing requests for Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and/or Expressions of Interest (EOIs)This position requires the candidate to be flexible, passionate about doing good work and having a sense of humorWillingness to travel within the region and nationally as required and/or requestedCandidate Specification :Experience Required:Minimum 15 years of aviation centric experienceAviation Project Management experience requiredProfessional registration and willingness to get additional professional registrations as required
