Maintenance Technician Tier III


Job Details

Hours : 1 st shift: 7am-3:30p.m.

Summary: Ensures operation of machinery and equipment completing preventive maintenance requirements on printing and manufacturing equipment and machines, follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer s instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions. Provides quick response and resolution for machine issues. Provides training, coaching and support to machine operators to ensure daily use and maintenance is communicated and performed. Team player, self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision. Provides preventive, predictive and facilities maintenance for multi-shift operation.

Qualification Requirements :

Education :

Associate degree or equivalent Education

Advanced technical or vocational training

Experience :

Minimum 5 years experience in industrial maintenance, special machinery maintenance, or print bindery maintenance.

3 years experience in manufacturing environment.

Specific Knowledge :

Strong Mechanical/electrical/electronic and technical aptitude.

Demonstrated understanding of pneumatics, mechanics, and electronic control systems.

Strong understanding of electrical systems and circuit diagrams (some programming (PLC or CNC controls) preferred)

Knowledge and experience with 480V 3-phase power

Understanding Safety/OSHA requirements

General Knowledge :

Mechanical-Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Design-knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Building and Construction- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.

Safety and Security-Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe machine operations.

English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English Language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Skills :

Equipment Maintenance-Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Repairing- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools

Troubleshooting- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Installation- Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.

Operation Monitoring-Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Operation Control-Controlling operations of equipment or systems including hand, power, and specialized tools.

Critical Thinking-Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or conclusions or approaches problems.

Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Judgment and Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Time Management- Managing one s own time and the time of others.

Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Equipment Selection- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Speaking- Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
