Job Description: Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:
A well-established and rapidly growing Commercial Glazing Contractor is seeking a full-time Commercial Estimator. This person is an integral part of our team who will work alongside clients, suppliers, and office staff. They will bid on multiple construction projects ranging generally from $100,000 to $5,000,000.
A minimum of five (5) years Industry experience with various sized projects, with direct experience in storefronts, window walls, curtain walls, panels, and other commercial glazing facades.
Must have Experience with Glazing
Maintaining existing and new relationships with various manufacturers of curtain walls, storefronts, window walls, panels, etc.
Maintaining and building relationships with current and new general contractors and estimators.
Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
Attention to details.
Expertise with spreadsheets.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
Working knowledge of field practices, procedures and concepts, and current knowledge of building codes.
Experienced with materials, machines, tools, and equipment used in the industry.
Knowledge of reading blueprints as well as architectural and structural drawings.
Risk management, bid submission including written proposal.
Report writing and strategic planning skills.
Supervisor/manager of one or more estimators in the department. Weekly review of projects bidding with management as well as reviewing bid results on past projects.
Maintaining current and future bid schedules.
Turnover of awarded projects to project management team.
Exceptional time management skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Glazier Studio software.
