Please note: Senate Bill 1397 temporarily waives the Basic Skills Requirement for the initial issuance of an Emergency 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit from January 1, 2023, through July 1, 2024. After July 1, 2024, in order to qualify for a 30 day emergency teaching permit through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), you will need to have met the Basic Skills Requirement by one of the following: CBEST, CSET (Multiple Subject), CSU Placement Exam, SAT or ACT, College Board Advanced Placement Exam, Basic Skills Exam from another State or Basic Skills Requirement by Coursework.
