POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Technician role supports all areas of production. You will be trained to work on a variety of equipment, including: laser engravers, wire machines, and many custom-made types of test equipment. You will be responsible for working in all areas of our production facility.
This role is a good entry point into light industrial manufacturing. This role allows employees to gain a broad range of skill sets. With experience, training and solid work ethic, Production Technicians can move up to specific roles that they excel in. These roles include Solder Technicians, CNC Operators, and Electronic Assembly Testing, among others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Build wire assemblies, cables, and harnesses using both hand operated and automatic tools
Operate and maintain automatic wire cutting/stripping machines and cable building equipment
Assemble electronic assemblies with standard hand tools
Test and verify electronic assemblies
Operate light industrial manufacturing equipment.
Mill, measure, sand, polish, and anodize metal components
Build foam components and assemble transit cases
Inspect the completed work of yourself and others
Follow written procedures
Assist in investigations for root cause of unexplained outcomes
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on production equipment
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in work areas and common areas
Perform other duties assigned.
Work in compliance with OSHA and MSDS safety policies.
Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Requirements
Qualifications/Experience
Familiarity with basic manufacturing tools such as: digital calipers, multimeters, heat guns, wire strippers
The ability to read and understand basic drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and build instructions
Willingness to learn new things, take on new challenges, and expand your capabilities
Attention to details and desire to exceed expectations
Organized, punctual, pleasant demeanor
A desire for continuous improvement
Strong computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent hand-eye coordination
