General Responsibilities Summary
Maintains grounds and physical facilities at golf course by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
Operates greens and grounds maintenance equipment: operates tractor, greens mower, airifier, hydraulic reel mowers, deck mowers, tri-plex, sand pro, golf cart, maintenance truckster, top dresser, and gang mowers.
Provides manual labor: assists in the replacement, installation, and maintenance of golf course sprinkler system and control boxes; digs and cleans drainage ditches; trims tree limbs; covers and uncovers greens in cold weather; loads and unloads fertilizer; uses weed eater and push lawnmower; rakes/weeds and maintains sand traps; moves tee markers; changes pins/cups.
Maintains equipment: changes oil; lubricates; steam cleans; performs other routine maintenance tasks; performs preventative maintenance on all equipment used.
Cleans facilities and grounds: mops; performs janitorial tasks; picks up litter; washes equipment, windows, floors, etc.
Minimum Qualifications

Some high school education, but a diploma is not required; and one year of golf course experience or directly-related sports turf maintenance experience or; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Class D driver's license and good driving record are required and must be maintained throughout employment.

The complexity, guidelines, supervisory controls, and supervision responsibilities described below are representative of this position.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
The work is closely controlled, either by a supervisor or by the structured nature of the work. For both one of a kind and repetitive tasks the supervisor makes specific assignments that are accompanied by clear, detailed, and specific instructions. The worker consults with the supervisor as needed on all matters not specifically covered in the original instructions or guidelines. The supervisor reviews most work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None
COMPLEXITY:
The work consists of tasks that are clear-cut and directly related; there is little or no choice to be made in deciding what needs to be done; actions to be taken or responses to be made are readily discernible; the work is quickly mastered.
GUIDELINES:
Specific, detailed guidelines covering all important aspects of the assignment are provided; authorization is needed for deviations. There is no choice in deciding what needs to be done and very little choice in how the task is to be done.

Holidays - Twelve (12) paid holidays per year.
Insurance - 100% premium payment for employee health insurance, 75% paid health insurance coverage for dependents; paid life insurance.
Worker's Compensation - Coverage is provided for each employee for medical bills and work time lost due to on-the-job injuries.
Longevity Pay - After completing a full year of employment with the City of North Little Rock, an employee is granted longevity pay at the rate of $5.25 per month times the number of years employed.
Vacation - Accrual begins with date of hire with eligibility to use accrued vacation leave after six months of service. Vacation may be accumulated to a maximum of 30 days. Vacation is calculated:

Sick Leave - All full-time, regular, non-uniformed employees earn twenty (20) sick leave days annually with unlimited accumulation.
Discretionary Leave - Employees with two or more years of continuous service on January 1 of each year are granted 16-48 hours discretionary leave during that year, depending on length of service.
Retirement Plan - Mandatory and contributory, begins immediately.
