The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining the overall health of a designated zone and its network and computer infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems within the systems network infrastructure.
  • Subject matter expert in implementing plans for replacing and upgrading computer hardware and software, switches, wireless access points, and other related devices based on MCPSS benchmarks.
  • Supervises the technical support staff assigned to their zone.
  • Provides direction, training, and assistance with problems encountered by staff.
  • Ensures that quality service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction is provided to system employees.
  • Performs performance appraisals and investigates and resolves personnel problems.
  • Researches and maintains knowledge of current network computing technologies to ensure the system's awareness of state-of-the-art software and hardware.
  • Assists the Network Manager with planning for future acquisitions and upgrades to equipment and software.
  • Develops and utilizes systems to monitor and maintain the computer network.
  • Reviews bids and proposals and makes recommendation for vendor selection.
  • Maintains documentation of the network system including installations, problems, fixes and upgrades.
  • Installs and maintains network software and hardware linking system employees and departments.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco technologies including ISE, AMP, and switch IOS; Microsoft technologies including SCCM, Office 365, Active Directory, and Windows 10 Enterprise.
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, upkeep, and training on numerous models of physical VoIP phones based on MCPSS benchmarks.
  • Provides training to senior network technicians, network technicians and TST's.
  • Works with other system staff to implement and resolve problems associated with communication methods and protocols used between various school system computer systems.
  • Performs other duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Network Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have an associate degree in computer technology or six (6) year's network hardware and software installation and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.

Microsoft and Cisco certifications along with an extensive background in Windows Active Directory Environment preferred.

Excellent working knowledge of network subnets, VLAN configuration, VMWare, wireless networks.

Must have the ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints.

Skills in troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and network installation and maintenance.

Skills in configuring physical and virtual application servers.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Ability to work well under pressure and make logical, practical, and accurate decisions.

Skills in communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisors, users of technology, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work directions.

Must possess strong customer service skills.

Must have good oral and written communication skills.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be insurable as determined by an investigation into private and business driving records within any consecutive three-year time frame.

Salary Range: From/To Beginning pay - $67,365.00.
