Manages and oversees effective preparation, analysis, and insight for inventory balances and cost of goods sold. Ensures accurate and timely close processes are in place and implements measures to identify all material transactions are appropriately recorded in accordance with GAAP and accounting standards consistent across the organization. As an integral member of the Accounting Operations team, this position coordinates the processing of large amounts of transactions to provide insight into operational performance. This position requires excellent analytical skills, experience in cost accounting and inventory management and the ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

****ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**** may include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):

* Coordinate the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of period end close activities for inventory, related inventory reserves and COGS, including journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forwards in accordance with reporting deadlines.

* Provide senior management effective understanding and analysis of inventory and COGS actual results, budget development and variance reporting.

* Manage COGS functions, including inventory transactions, gross margin analytics, and variances.

* Prepare inventory records and cost data in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX internal control requirements.

* Perform analytical reviews and interpretation of financial data and provide understandable explanations to non-financial business partners.

* Review journal entries and account reconciliations on a periodic basis according to established schedule.

* Prepare and maintain schedules and supporting documentation needed for management, internal and external reporting, internal and external auditors, and SOX requirements.

* Assist with quarterly reviews/year-end audits with internal, external and regulatory auditors.

* Coordinate work with Off-shore resources.

* Intermediate Excel skills

* Significant hands-on experience using a modern ERP system

* Strong analytical, organizational, conflict solving and negotiation skills.

* Must be a team player who also works well independently.

* Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations with respect to incentive calculations.

* Must be able to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend financial reports, and legal documents.

* Must be able to communicate effectively in both an oral and written manner to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

* Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to top management, external department heads, customers, clients and other employees.

****EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE****:

* Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university

* Certified Public Accountant preferred

* Minimum 6 years accounting experience

* Minimum 2 years accounting management experience

****SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES****:

Serves as the manager of the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training, planning, assigning/directing work and resolving problems.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**

Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
