**Job Description Summary**

Coordinates the inventory activities at the site for both production supplies & finished goods. Ensures tight control of inventory from the time the product is received in the warehouse through production issue and consumption. Works closely with site purchasing to ensure inventory accuracy, supporting the timely reorder of materials needed for production. 1-year related experience.**Job Description**

**Job Summary**

Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to ensure adequate supplies for plant operations on a cost-effective basis. Identifies total cost savings and quality enhancement opportunities.

**Position Responsibilities**

* Works in a safe manner to help maintain an accident-free workplace.

* Establishes and maintain satisfactory vendor relations to ensure there are adequate supplies for the plant operation on a cost-effective basis.

* Observes all EHS rules, including housekeeping; participate in safety trainings. Proactively communicates and addresses safety concerns/risks.

* Develops purchasing systems and procedures to generate adequate data to assess costs (i.e., purchase price report), vendor/supplier effectiveness (i.e., customer return data) and other operating data that may be required to assess operation effectiveness.

* Maintains a master purchasing procedure to ensure all materials & supplies has the proper documentation for incoming or outgoing deliveries.

* Works with suppliers to identify cost savings and quality enhancement opportunities.

* Serves as a team member to identify and recommend material cost savings, develop systems in conjunction with the daily operations team to identify quality or efficiency opportunities and communicate this to the suppliers.

* Supports business opportunities through a timely procurement of new materials that may lead to new markets or product applications.

* Coordinates transitions of old to new materials and run out quantities and costing of discontinued materials.

* Ensures all information is maintained throughout department. Develop a working relationship with suppliers to assure our needs are met on a timely basis.

* Functions as the backup for scheduling shipping appointment times.

* Other projects and/or duties as assigned.

**Basic & Preferred Qualifications**

**Position Qualifications:**

* High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred

* Minimum one year work experience in manufacturing/warehouse position.

* Excellent verbal & written/communication skills.

* Ability to use critical thinking to plan, problem solve and make decisions.

* Excellent project planning and time management skills

* Must be a team player and support management decisions with a related ability to effectively collaborate with others.

* Computer skills: Purchasing system, Excel, Word, E-Mail, Internet

**Physical Requirements:**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot too cold in temperature.
