Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Civil/Site team in our growing Clinton, NJ office.



Responsibilities:
  • Apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in land development
  • Independently evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Design complete projects, systems, components or processes
  • Prepare advanced general and basic non-routine engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy
  • Prepare complete project documents
  • Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets and schedule assignments
  • Assist with proposal development for professional services
  • Provide direction to engineers, technicians and administrative staff
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
  • Attend meetings and present specific components of assignments
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
  • Perform field investigations/ site visits as needed


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • PE preferred
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other related software packages, as applicable
  • Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to effectively work as part of a team (i.e.., collaborate, contribute, respect others)
  • Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate advanced, general and basic non-routine knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices
  • Demonstrate advanced investigative, analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrate basic speaking skills to communicate general technical ideas, concepts and information to a technical and nontechnical audience
  • Demonstrate advanced technical and nontechnical writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written for the purpose of client, contractor and co-worker interactions
