About the role

As someone who cares about the environment, you will be fully responsible for driving the success of Scope3 s rapidly expanding Retail Media business. Reporting directly to the Leader of Scope3 s AdTech Platform Business you will be the first commercial executive dedicated to this important vertical. Initially, a Player / Coach you ll be involved in all aspects of growing the Retail Media business: managing existing client relationships at the executive level, driving new business & partnerships, participate in crafting the go to market strategy, building the team and creating an organization structure to support rapid growth.

Evangelizing Scope3 s mission and solutions you will help retailers navigate the emerging world of sustainable advertising, enabling them to measure and reduce their carbon emissions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a start- up environment with marketing and product ambiguity who has successfully sold new products requiring client and market education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish a robust deal pipeline, drive attainment of revenue goals for the Retail Media segment of the Scope3 business.
  • Create partnerships that are mutually beneficial and drive revenue while establishing market footholds for Scope3. Work closely with the Customer Success team to fully monetize relationships.
  • Personally develop and nurture executive level customer relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams (commercial, product, marketing and other supporting functions) on behalf of customers, helping solve problems in the short-term while contributing to long-term solutions that can benefit Scope3 s entire book of business.
  • Build / Lead a team consistent with growth targets as revenue increases.
  • Be Scope3 s expert in Retail Media, their solutions as well as the overall programmatic ecosystem.
  • Develop personal expertise regarding sustainability in ad-tech and evangelize the mission of decarbonizing media and advertising through industry events, blog posts and client events, and more.
  • Identify market opportunities consistent with Scope3 s mission that leverage its capabilities and expertise.
  • Drive, build, and nurture a corporate culture consistent with Scope3 s mission and values.

Your experience:

  • In depth expertise in Retail Media, ideally, gained working for a Retailer or technology platform enabling the monetization retail media and /or networks.
  • A track record of consistently achieving commercial revenue targets as both an individual contributor and sales / business development leader.
  • Has sold new products into emerging categories where success hinged on having to educate clients.
  • A domain expert who understands the current Retail Media landscape, the economics driving its growth, who the players are and how buying decision are made. Additionally, you should have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of the AdTech ecosystem and how the pieces fit together (DSPs, SSPs, Data Management & the overall programmatic supply path
  • An entrepreneurial leader who will thrive in a fluid environment where priorities can shift rapidly in order to capitalize on opportunities. Comfortable in a dynamic and evolving landscape in a startup organization.
  • Be regarded as an industry expert with a well-established network.
  • Educator / Evangelizer. We need to teach the market how sustainable advertising works.
  • A high level of intelligence, able to grasp and solve complex business issues quickly and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills: writing, collaborating, negotiating, persuading, public speaking and listening.
