The Role
Hem is seeking a talented and innovative Interior Design Associate to join our team in New York. As an integral member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our strategic sales team, infusing your creative flair with structured project management skills to create captivating visual materials that support the sales process and guide key accounts in their decision-making process. Your expertise in using Revit and CAD models will bring our products to life digitally, while your skills in creating presentations, mood boards, and delivering client presentations will inspire and captivate our clients. Based at Hem's NYC showroom in the vibrant neighborhood of Soho, you will collaborate with our teams in LA and Stockholm, as well as our US-based clients, to deliver exceptional design solutions and ensure flawless project execution and installations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Hem's Revit and CAD models to produce high-quality renderings that highlight the design and functionality of our products.
  • Create visually stunning presentations and sales materials that engage and excite clients, combining mood boards, digital assets, compelling narratives to engage and excite clients - effectively communicating Hem's design philosophy and product range.
  • Collaborate with sales to create floorplans and layouts that meet client needs and Hem's design standards, using your expertise to craft visually stunning and functional environments.
  • Collaborate with strategic sales, supporting client meetings, presentations, and project coordination. Understand key accounts' unique needs. Deliver client presentations showcasing how Hem's products fulfill design goals.
  • Conduct field/site visits to assess project sites, verify measurements, and gather information for accurate space planning and design implementation.
  • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and installers to coordinate project timelines, manage logistics, and oversee the installation process.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on installations, ensuring that all furniture and design elements meet Hem's high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Lead punch walks to assess project completion, identify any deficiencies, and work with relevant teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project milestones are met and client expectations are exceeded.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in design principles and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in interior design, project management, or a related field, with a focus on delivering exceptional projects and coordinating installations.
  • Excellent knowledge of space planning, furniture layout, and design implementation, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Proven experience conducting field/site visits, verifying measurements, and ensuring accurate space planning and design implementation.
  • Familiarity with US building codes, and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, for creating detailed floorplans, 3D renderings, and presentations.
  • Passion for design and a strong understanding of current design trends, materials, and industry innovations.
  • Knowledge of the furniture industry and an understanding of sales processes within the design industry is a plus.
