Food Service Generalist ($300 New Hire Bonus)

**$300 Bonus applies to all new hires after 10/4/2021 and candidate must be continuously employed for 90 calendar days prior to payout. This program is for a limited time and does not apply to rehires. Additional information can be shared during the interview process.**

**Job Summary:**

Responsible for food services, as well as, planning, organizing, and implementing programs/activities for members. Provides leadership, supervision, and development of daily activities. Provides direct service to members.

**Responsibilities:**

* Prepares clubroom and kitchen for food program which includes setting up tables, making sure there are adequate garbage cans and preparing serving area.

* Cleans clubroom and kitchen when food program is completed. Sweeps floor and mops when necessary. Takes garbage to the dumpster. Cleans utensils and pans from the caterer.

* Works cooperatively with all staff to assure quality activities and programs are promotes and supervised for youth programs, to include but not limited to arts & crafts, field trips, game room, health, goal-setting activities, and physical education.

* Supervises the care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and materials.

* Records and maintains accurate data of members served daily.

* Sends data reports as required by food service provider.

* Tracks member participation in assigned program by taking attendance, submitting attendance rosters, and documents results and progress of participants.

* Establishes consistent rules and enforces policy of taking names of no-one-over the age of 18.

* Serves food to members in accordance with the food service program and Club policies and procedures.

* Assists in problem solving of conflicts that occur between youth.

* Assists and participates in activities, programs, field trips and outings for members as needed.

* Encourages emotional, social, and educational growth of individual members.

* Provides guidance and direction to members in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, and civic and community engagement.

* Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.

Requirements **Education Requirements:**

* High School Diploma or equivalency required.

**Experience Requirements:**

* Background in Child Development and comparable techniques.

* This person should be at least 19 years old and possess a variety of experiences working with youth. Areas of emphasis could include: Physical Education, Arts & Crafts, and Playground Supervision.

* Must possess experience in working with youth between the ages of 4-18 in a group setting.

* Within 6 months of hire:

* BGCGM mandatory training in record-keeping and other food program policies and procedures.

**Skills:**

* Serve as a positive role model who will show concern, fairness, and enthusiasm. Must be self-motivated, punctual, and reliable.

* Must be able to work cooperatively with others

* Able to demonstrate and gain the respect and confidence of members ages 4-18.

* Possess leadership skills and maintain a cheerful attitude.

* Knowledgeable in development characteristic (social, emotional, and physical) of children ages 4-18.
