A.L. Hansen Mfg. Co., an ISO 9001 certified company, is a leading manufacturer in the commercial hardware industry located in Waukegan is currently seeking a full time Quality Inspector.
Primary purpose of job:
Perform dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured product. Measure parts to assure they meet print specifications or functionality. In-process auditing to collect information about the specific part in production based on selected inspection criteria.
Requirements
Essential functions of job, frequency and percentage of time on the job:
1. Conduct in process auditing of manufactured parts.
2. First piece / last piece inspection for production approval.
3. Assist production employees to ensure proper workmanship techniques.
4. Assist set up personal in proper measurement techniques.
5. Perform shipping and dock audits of finished products.
6. Perform incoming inspection of supplier products.
7. Responsible for the fixture control program.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required skills, licenses, knowledge, experience or abilities:
1. Must have knowledge and skilled use of micrometers, calipers, height gauge, radius gauge, thread gauge and pin gauge.
2. Skilled in use of optical comparator desirable.
3. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
4. Experience and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
5. Ability to perform and understand basic shop mathematics.
Experience using computers with windows based operating system.
