Job Location Corvallis **This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Warehouse Worker position for the University Housing & Dining Services at Oregon State University (OSU ).**

This position provides support to University Catering and Dining Services by safely transporting food and equipment and maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance records on assigned vehicle(s). This position works with students on expediting catering events, teaching them to safely drive oversize vehicles and supports the Warehouse in Arnold Dining Center. This requires strategic and efficient planning of time, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Under the general supervision of the Executive Chef de Cuisine, the Driver is responsible for the safe transport of bakery and/or commissary food items to all dining services units and occasionally catering events. The Driver is also responsible for the care and cleaning of all delivery vehicles, inventory of all pans used in deliveries, and other duties as assigned.

This position is eligible for meal perquisites per the SEIU contract.
This position will adhere to all OSU and UHDS policies and procedures. Position Duties Decisions made while driving large vehicles on campus and in the region impact the safety of pedestrians and other drivers, as well as property. Decisions relating to the transport of food and equipment in an efficient and effective manner impacts both the health and sanitation standards for handling/storage of foods, and the physical safety of equipment. These decisions impact the profit/loss of the Catering and Dining service and the safety, health and satisfaction of our customers. The job performance and decision-making behavior of this individual affects the ability of the organization to meet or exceed product quality and labor budgets. Additional Required Qualifications One year of experience in food service outside the home OR delivery driving in a non-passenger vehicle for at least three months.
Prior experience in food service and/or catering and/or delivery.
Communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with Dining Services employees, as well as other campus staff.
Ability to build successful working relationships and with individuals & communities of diverse backgrounds and personal characteristics.
Ability to develop purposeful networks and partnerships in order to achieve department mission and objectives.

Logistical and organizational skills to effectively manage time and strategically ensure the best use of vehicle and storage space.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible to changing demands and workload.

Required Valid Food Service Permit within 30 days of employment.
State of Oregon OLCC server permit within 30 days of employment.

This position may be designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-###-#### et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.

This position must possess and maintain a current, valid drivers license and maintain a satisfactory driving record while serving in the position; therefore, the incumbent must provide a copy of their driving history for the past 2 years from the issuing states Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications One year of Catering Food Service Experience.
One year of warehouse or receiving experience.
Proven experience in safe driving of a delivery vehicle.
Experience driving and loading a box truck, as well as using a lift gate and pallet jack
Experience with vehicle maintenance.
Experience with logistics and efficiently moving products from point A to point B.
Knowledge of departmental food specifications and procedures for safe handling and transport of food.
Experience with lead work and training employees. Occasionally requires a flexible work schedule. Working nights, weekends, and holidays; with different days off and start and stop times depending on scheduled events.

This is a physically active job in an institutional kitchen environment. Incumbent will experience long working periods of standing on a hard floor; working with commercial equipment; fluctuation in work flow, temperature and noise level.
Must be able to work shift on your feet and perform frequent arm movements. Bending, lifting, and pushing repetitive motions are required in performing tasks.
