**SUMMARY**

The Inventory Specialist analyzes finished good demand requirements and communicates supply constraints. This position is responsible for the daily review of on hand inventory to understand our ability to meet customer requirements, coordination of the finished good expiry and donation process, and works closely with Production Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Demand Planning to minimize out of stocks.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Short term weekly inventory planning using IBP.

* Evaluate and report on out of stocks.

* Daily monitoring of Days on Hand to assist in reducing or eliminating backorders and improving Fill Rate.

* Review sales order line items consuming over 20% of total inventory. Work with Demand Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing and communicate to Inventory Planner/Sales.

* Projected out of stock analysis and reporting.

* Responsible for preparing and publishing inventory reports daily and monthly and also the Finished Good Expiry.

* Brand Grouping monthly dashboard support.

* Assist and support the SAP and BI System teams as they relate to Operations, Distribution and Inventory Planning.

* Process Improvement - Actively work with the Operations team to continue to improve, gain insight from mistakes, provide feedback, demonstrate technical excellence and seek and share knowledge.

* Required to perform as a backup to others in the Inventory Planning Department.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

* Bachelors degree in a related business area from four-year College or university, Associate Degree in Supply Chain, or four years related experience in production planning, inventory or supply chain control in a computerized ERP environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* SAP system experience ideal but not required.

* Microsoft Excel and Word

**OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:**

* Hands on knowledge of ERP or Supply Chain planning.

* Working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning.

* Demonstrated leadership qualities with achieved outcomes.

* Strong critical thinking, communication, and organization skills.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:**

* APICS Certification a plus.

* Recent training or certification in Supply Chain Management a plus.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, ability to write business correspondence and take notes.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

**REASONING ABILITY**

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.

* Ability work with automated and manual records in accord with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company standard operation procedures.
