Shipping Specialist

Basic Scope/Purpose: (The jobs primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)

Create a customer focus by accurately picking/pulling orders while demonstrating a sense of urgency, a commitment to continuous improvement by meeting or exceeding expectations, and a commitment to safety by adhering to all company safety policies.

Shipping Specialist I

Maintain a clean work environment.

Adapt to change in the work environment to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.

Promote departmental teamwork and inter-departmental teamwork.

Communicate effectively with co-workers and fellow employees.

Use scanners to pull/ship orders.

Pack, prepare and ship orders accurately using Shipping Systems (Proship).

Adjust schedule to fluctuate work priorities, as needed.

Print, pull, pack and ship samples, as needed.

When practical, adheres to the FIFO (first in, first out) when putting finished goods in stock and removing from stock.

Required to report any safety incidents and/or moving violations.

Ability to securely package finished goods.

Operate Instapak foam machine.

Find and print safety data sheet labels.

Operate Company tow motor and reach forklift safely; ensure seat belt adherence.

Perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy consistent with departmental goals.

Follow all safety procedures including lifting techniques and limits.

Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors at all times.

Shipping Specialist II

Ability to perform all level I skills.

Verify items received from outside vendors and update E1 accurately including transfers.

Perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy consistent with departmental goals.

Operate Company tow motor safely; ensure seat belt adherence.

Participates in Kaizen events and 5S programs in an effort to support our world class endeavor.

Ability to pack orders based on customer specification.

Able to track and void packages when needed.

Pack and properly secure skids for LTL shipment.

Can perform inventory transactions when necessary.

Provide freight quotes for internal associates and external customers.

Shipping Specialist III

Ability to perform all level I and II skills.

Prepare Documents and Commercial Invoices for Export shipments as needed.

Pack kits, as required.

Knowledgeable in all receiving functions including chemicals.

Processes in RGA disposition and closeouts.

Experienced in all aspects of B-LOC functions.

Investigating root cause analysis of cycle counts.

Train Shipping Specialists I and II in all necessary functions.

Environmental, Health & Safety Accountabilities: (The level of safety accountability needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.

Learn and follow EHS policies, rules and work instructions

Attend required EHS training

Wear the required PPE at all times

Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, work place inspections, corrective actions and safety observations

Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the work place. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present

Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.

Shipping Specialist I - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Shipping Specialist II 2-3 years of related experience and/or training.

Shipping Specialist III At least 3 years related experience and or/training.
