* Performs a variety of laboring, warehousing, and service issue tasks at any and all of the established warehousing and customer service locations within the US Military Academy and its training sites.

* Performs a variety of manual labor tasks.

* Loads and unloads trucks, forklifts, and other conveyances.

* Issues items to customers, receives items from customers and places in designated bins, baskets and similar locations according to clearly established directions.

* Maintains housekeeping practices in accordance with prescribed instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), sanitation policies and procedures.

* Shovels snow and ice, operates a snow blower, lawn mowers, weed wackers, leaf blowers, and similar equipment to maintain any and all of the assigned areas.

**Requirements** **Conditions of Employment**

* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

* This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated below and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laborerwithout more than normal supervision. to include performing ground maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, digging ditches, filling and leveling holes, painting, scrubbing, sweeping, and/or loading and unloading various supplies and materials; operating hand tools and/or equipment such as power mowers, weed wackers, snow blowers, shovels, dollies, and/or box cutters; and performing housekeeping work such as tightening door hinges and locks, replacing light bulbs, spackling holes and cracks, and/or cleaning clogged drains. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

**PHYSICAL EFFORT:** Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds, and regularly is required to lift, carry, and handle items weighing over 80 pounds. When working as a member of a team, often lifts the heaviest objects with the assistance of another worker or workers.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:** Works inside and outside subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted areas. May work on open docks or storage yards. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. The incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises; falls from ladders; or injury from material handling and other equipment. Required to utilize and wear appropriate safety gear. **Education** This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
