at Life House New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Remote is a software-enabled hotel operations platform that is making hotels operationally autonomous and powering the digital transformation of the hotel ecosystem. We make hotels easy to operate and maximally profitable for hotel owners through i) automation of the back-office operations of a hotel, and ii) enabling on-site staff to excel at their jobs with minimal training. The result is a more profitable hotel, with hotel staff that are empowered to better serve their guests (with less training), and a better valued hotel experience for travelers. We've just raised nearly $60M i n financing from the likes of Inovia, Tiger Global, and Kayak, among others. We operate over 50 hotels with our software and will use the new funds to build an amazing team, grow our portfolio of hotels, and to start selling . **Who We Are**

**The Role**

We are looking for a VP, Hotel Operations to join our leadership team directing the strategy and execution of the operational components of the hotel management side of the business. Were on the mission to make hotels operationally autonomously and this leader would be designing and executing a road map that expediently and optimally gets us there. This leader would work closely with the SVP, Operations & Strategy to align on high level business goals and would wholly own the creation of a strategy, action plan & budget, and the execution of this business plan. Our ideal candidate is highly conscientious & industrious, able to create structure from chaos, and can build scalable operating systems and highly effective teams. This candidate is highly efficient, quantitatively driven, and a demonstrated leader.

Currently, we operate over 50 hotels, but are quickly looking to grow our portfolio to 120+ signed this year. Therefore, this leader will be tasked to set up the departments they will own for rapid scale through process, hiring, and automation while continuing to improve upon the quality of our offering.

**What Youll Do**

The role will report to the SVP, Operations & Strategy and oversee Hotel Operations with the primary objectives to optimally set up the department for scale, effectiveness and quality as seen through i) optimizing hotel P&Ls, ii) advancing operating systems and processes, and iii) reducing time and cost required to open and operate a hotel

* Oversee Hotel Operations to ensure we have a clearly defined operational service, a robust operating systems to execute on that service that is optimized for repeatability, scale, and radical precision

* Build out high performing teams to support the company goals, roadmap, and strategy

* Set quarterly OKRs and measure performance and business health on a weekly and monthly basis

* Own the operating, pre-opening and transitions budgets for Hotel Operations

* Oversee Hotel P&Ls and ensure delivery of accurate commentary on performance to owners

* Ensure property-level expenses are properly managed/ in line with our financial objectives

* Oversee the execution of hotel openings optimizing for efficiency and automation

* Lead the creation and execution of consistent operations standards and define service protocols such that our hotels and restaurants can run efficiently and self-sufficiently.

* Provide operational input on technical and functional design for our new hotels

* Be a key stakeholder in software development for your departments to ensure that were building the right software to solve our problems as a hotel operator and the industrys problems while minimizing our reliance on third parties

* Develop systems that allow hotel staff (from Housekeepers to General Managers) to be really successful at their jobs with minimal training and experience

* Represent Life House externally, helping shape the evolution of the business

**You Are**

* **An experienced leader**: ~10+ years of career experience within high-growth, fast-paced, and ideally operationally intensive businesses focused repeatable operational systems

+ A track record of building and implementing thoughtful & strategic business plans to solve complex problems and achieve ambitious business goals. This includes OKRs, financial budgets, organizational structures, and scalable operating systems

+ Proven expertise building consumer-based operations standards and offerings and leveraging technology to scale and meet those needs

* **An inspiring team builder:** Our ambitious goals will require an A+ team to accomplish! Ideally youve built and managed A+ teams before, and have inspired and supported them to achieve their highest potential

* **A stellar communicator:** You have well-developed skills to clearly explain commercial concepts at all levels and produce appropriate supporting communication materials
