**PERFORMANCE STANDARDS**

* Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, and to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when working with supervisors & peers.

* Ability to combine knowledge of internal shipping and inventory systems with insight to strategically lead continual improvement efforts, and tactically problem-solve and correct inventory-related issues.

* Ability to train and coach other employees about inventory and inventory-related systems and concepts.

* Ability to operate the office equipment and software necessary to perform the duties of this position such as a PC, Microsoft Office applications, internal Supply Chain Managements System (SCMS), Oxygen application, fax machine, multi-line phone system, copier and 10-key.

* Must possess strong attention to detail, strong organizational practices, the ability to prioritize work assignments and to manage multiple priorities.

* Ability to type, file and enter data quickly and accurately.

* Have an expert-level understanding of departments systems and procedures that pertain to rail and truck receiving, loading and shipping.

* Ability to read or hear and comprehend instructions in written, oral or diagram form to effectively produce correspondence, memos and other office materials.

* Knowledge of the principles of professional office environment and the ability to apply these principles to role and work assignments.

**JOB DUTIES**

* Maintain an accurate finished goods inventory map, share with personnel as required for promoting loading efficiency. Provide leadership in the use and improvement of inventory systems and tools.

* Maintain the integrity of the product cycle count process.

* Provide direction to foremen regarding required product relocation/consolidation activities.

* Create warehousing instructions for shipping foremen based on coordination of activities and information from sales, logistics and finishing departments. Additionally, internal and OSHA safety regulations must be taken into account.

* Interface with logistics to provide shipping personnel with advance notice of product loads and assist with dock scheduling activities.

* Occasionally works with shipping and QA personnel to investigate and correct sources of shipping errors, provide oversight over regrading activities, and authorize inventory corrections as necessary.

* Works with sales and shipping to understand upcoming rail car requirements, assist in ordering rail cars, prioritize rail car loading that balances sales/customer requirements and internal department efficiencies.

* Works with sales department, logistics and/or outside parties to resolve problems with loads.

* Occasionally assists supervisors and other department personnel by performing a variety of duties in support of department functions. This includes performing clerk receiving functions when necessary.

* Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

* High school diploma or GED. College-level education a plus.

* 5+ years of administrative experience.

* Previous knowledge of inventory management concepts a plus.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

* Climbing frequently. Ascending or descending stairs on a daily basis.

* Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching occasionally when needed to access office files, papers, etc.

* Standing/Walking frequently on a daily basis, both within an office environment and also within coil storage and warehouses.

* Reaching continually to retrieve office supplies, equipment or files/paperwork.

* Pushing/Pulling/Lifting occasionally to move items within the office environment.

* Grasping continually to move papers, files and office supplies or to write.

* Repetitive motions of the hands/wrists/fingers continually to perform office duties such as keyboarding, 10-key, telephone dialing, or filing of documentation.

* Sitting frequently as position requires a large amount of office time and duties are primarily performed while sitting at a desk.

**USE OF SENSES**

* Talking in person/by telephone continually to explain procedures, gather information, give directions. Ability to communicate with individuals of varying English speaking/understanding ability. Ability to communicate in either an office environment or on occasion, in a loud mill environment.

* Hearing and listen continually in person and over the phone, and to understand.

* Continually will read and view computer monitor, data and figures and text.

**ENVIRONMENTAL**

Work is performed primarily indoors, in an office environment and is sedentary in nature. It may occasionally require the ability to exert force or to push/pull up to 20 pounds, and/or to lift/carry up to 10 pounds. In addition, there will be daily occasions when they may need to enter the mill, where they will be exposed to outdoor and/or plant conditions. PPE is required and will be provided when this is the case.
