We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at NVVC. The job duties required but not limited to: Assist in taking radiographs. Collect/run in house diagnostics. Fill prescription medications as instructed by Veterinarian. Monitor, medicate, and restrain patients. Provide effective communication of treatment plans with clients. Assist with patient procedures and surgeries. Obtain medical health history. Ability to intubate and place IV catheters. Maintain knowledge of preventive healthcare recommendations in order to answer client questions, provide education on vaccines, flea and heartworm products, and assist in marketing veterinary services from which their pet would benefit, such as dental cleaning, senior wellness, and spay and neuter. Clean, maintain and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials. Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels/cages and runs as often as necessary to ensure all patients are properly housed while being boarded/hospitalized. Work well with all team members while providing a motivated and positive work ethic that will contribute to our team.Skills: Self-starter. Motivated. Requires little supervision.
