**POSITION OVERVIEW:**
Dormakaba is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. This positions responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management. This position will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. The Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices.
**PRIMARY DUTIES :**
* Purchases quality products and materials by processing purchase orders to vendors
* Builds relationships with vendors and negotiate with them for best pricing, service, availability, and delivery schedule
* Maintains and reviews SAP purchasing process and inventory reorder point (ROP)
* Maximizes customer service while minimizing inventory investment through inventory supply management, supplier deliveries, vendor managed inventories (VMI)
* Manages cost, quality, quantity and delivery of products with suppliers
* Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid, conducts bid and quote analysis
* Prepares purchase orders or bid requests, purchases stock and special-order material
* Follows up with suppliers concerning order status and delivery, expedites/de-expedites, and communicate information to impacted departments
* Interacts with internal and external customer/suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction
* Gathers information for use in metrics development, key shortage reporting and special projects
* Maintains or assists in maintaining procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories
* Assists in new vendor sourcing and evaluations as needed along with support of strategic purchasing
**REQUIREMENTS:**
* Bachelors degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or relevant field preferred. Equivalent experience to be considered
* A minimum of 1-2 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Working knowledge of SAP preferred
* Negotiation skills
* Knowledge of manufacturing industry
