Job Summary

This position performs written and oral translation/interpretation between the Spanish and English languages. This includes general, technical, legal, medical, and educational materials. It also provides simultaneous interpretations during formal meetings before the Governing School Board and other District, school, disciplinary, and community meetings. School Board meetings are the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month and can last until midnight or later. Additional other duties as assigned related to emergency, crisis and/or pandemic.

**New Hire Sign on Bonus of $1,000!
Bonus is a one time "off-schedule" stipend for New Classified employees. First $500 paid after second supplemental pay period of working month, remaining $500 paid at end of school year.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- At least two years of relevant experience as a bilingual interpreter in an educational setting

Desired:
- College Degree majoring in Spanish

Work Hours:
Monday- Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM (hours may vary dependent on evening meetings)

Required prior to first day of employment:
1. Must complete a pre-employment Spanish Proficiency Exam and demonstrate both written and
oral proficiencies.
2.Must complete Mandated Reporter Training- School Personnel module before first day of employment. When you apply for this position, you will receive an email attachment with the details of this training.
