What You ll Do

As a Systems Architect, you will discover and deeply understand customer systems requirements and translate those needs into recommendations for technology and product roadmaps at Samsung. With a current priority on creating novel solutions across memory, system on chip design, foundry, and advanced packaging for rapidly evolving AI workloads, you will play a critical role in identifying synergies and leverage across multiple device solutions organizations within Samsung and beyond.

You have a proven track record of designing innovative HPC and AI/ML system and chip architectures that became commercially successful products in their respective markets especially relevant are server architectures deployed at scale in the cloud and highly integrated systems in advanced packaging. Your software workload first and at scale deployment approach to systems architecture complements strong bottoms-up technology expertise in-house. You possess a unique blend of technical depth and breadth, as well as business experience, to quickly gain credibility with key customers and internal stakeholders. You are an excellent communicator with a demonstrated ability to synthesize disparate inputs, distill data into clear and actionable written documents, and give compelling oral presentations with ease.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3-4 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time with an average of 10-20% travel per month.

  • Provide system/chip level architecture and design expertise and guidance, with particular emphasis on understanding generative AI and model requirements
  • Perform first order technical assessments of alternative systems architectures to guide development priorities and improve Samsung s competitiveness in the datacenter
  • Lead TCO-driven system-level architecture scenario analysis and case studies, memorialized in white papers (or blogs), to help evangelize Samsung solutions
  • Identify and deeply understand customer requirements and priorities. Provide feedback internally to continuously improve product offerings and value propositions
  • Effectively promote Samsung s silicon solutions with customers, at conferences, standards bodies and through online media to support new business creation
  • Identify high priority POC (proof of concept) opportunities with key customers for Samsung to validate technology solutions and accelerate learning
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related Physical Science with 15+ years of experience or Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related Physical Science with 13+ Years of Industry Experience or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related Physical Science with 10+ years of Industry Experience Preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a chip or server architect, preferably for large scale HPC architectures deployed on AI/ML workloads
  • Understanding of datacenter, rack, and server level architectures and future trends required to support cloud scale growth economics (cost, power, performance); deep experience with computer performance benchmark testing and analytical modeling
  • In-depth knowledge related to semiconductor innovations such as chiplet-based compute and accelerator architectures, approaches to in-memory compute, and scale-out demands on interconnects
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape of cloud computing market and how the semiconductor ecosystem is being challenged to meet TCO requirements
  • Experience making recommendations which balance the pros and cons of standard vs. custom product implementations
  • Proven ability to build strong customer, partner, and team relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with deeply technical engineering organizations as well as customer facing sales and marketing teams
  • Proven ability to work with global stakeholders in different cultures and time zones.
