Beaches Habitat for Humanity is a mission-driven organization based in the Jacksonville Beaches. People in our community partner with us to build or improve a safe and affordable place to call home at a price they can afford. In addition to paying back an affordable loan, the homeowners also participate in home construction, building alongside volunteers. Construction volunteers assist with all stages of construction throughout the year, helping to build and repair homes under the guidance of our friendly and knowledgeable staff. As a part of the construction volunteer team, you will be paired with a skilled leader who will teach you everything you need to know to have a safe and productive day on the construction site. During your time volunteering, be prepared to meet new friends, learn new skills, and make a difference in your community.

OUR MISSION AND HOW YOU FIT INTO IT: Beaches Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Your volunteer role of assisting with home construction contributes directly to the ability of a local individual or family to buy or improve a home. As a result of your work, they will have a safe and affordable home at a price they can afford.
Tasks vary and may include:
- Site preparation
- Foundation work
- Framing
- Roofing
- Siding
- Painting
- Landscaping
Qualifications and Training Requirements:
All Construction Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
No experience necessary! Habitat homes are built by willing hands and loving hearts. Anyone who can swing a hammer or use a paintbrush is welcome to the work of the Beaches Habitat for Humanity. Our site supervisors will provide all the equipment and teach you any necessary skills.
Shift Information:
- Tuesdays- Fridays, 8:00 am- 12:00 pm
- Saturdays, 8:30 am- 12:30 pm.
- Snacks and water will be provided.
- Work boots or athletic shoes are required.
- Tools and safety equipment will be provided.
