** IT Field Support Specialist**

Job Description Steelville Telephone Exchange, Inc. (STE) is seeking a customer service-oriented IT Field Support Specialist to provide technical support to businesses, schools, governmental, and nonprofit organizations.

You will be responsible for working in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment directly supporting STEs growing customer base. The IT Field Support Specialist performs a variety of duties to assist STE in delivering excellent service and technology to our customers. In this position, you will be supporting customers in their daily use of information systems both in-person and remotely. This is an office-based position with direct customer facing responsibilities.

**Responsibilities:**

* Maintain exceptional client communications by explaining complex problems to end users with limited technical understanding

* Will participate in an on-call rotation

* Ensure all incidents and service requests are properly documented for reporting and tracking purposes

* Maintain an advanced level of proficiency w ith all co-location, cloud, and managed service platforms

* Constantly maintain a security focus for both internal and customer applications

* Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues that may include; End user PC/Application

* Network connectivity and performance

* PC/Server Hardware

* Local / Network Printer hardware and access

**Additional tasks may include:**

* Hands-on tasks with clients and internal equipment

* Device installation, configuration, and turn-up

* Workstation and Server recovery

* Structured Cabling both copper and optical fiber

* Other assigned responsibilities as required

Must be highly self-motivated, proactive, an excellent communicator, and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting. Must also be a strong strategic thinker, highly organized, and have the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year associate degree from an accredited college or technical institution or a B.S. in Information Systems or related area of study or the equivalent work experience troubleshooting Windows Desktop and Server Operating System, business applications, printing and network systems.

Occasional carrying, lifting up to 70 lbs. independently, working on ladders, squatting, and twisting is also required. An insurable driving record, preliminary drug screening, and background check are all required.
