Mennonite Village in Albany Oregon is a not-for-profit CCRC facility that provides 24 hours/7 days a week care of varying levels. Lydias House is our Memory Loss Unit designed to care for elderly persons who have Alzheimers disease or related dementia. Due to the size of these units and the unique level of care; all staff may be required to provide some services primarily performed by others. Your day with start with cooking breakfast for our residents in our family style kitchen. Then perform housekeeping tasks as needed to maintain an overall clean and sanitary environment. Sun/Mon/Tues Days. 7am-3pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Perform housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, mopping, organizing, cleaning refrigerator, and other tasks as needed on a daily basis.

- Deep cleans resident rooms after a move out.

- Extracts soiled carpets as needed.

- Communicates necessary repairs with painter and maintenance prior to a move in.

- Monitor supplies and keep supervisor or administrator aware needs.

- Teaches new hires how to use cleaning equipment and educates them on the chemicals used in Lydias House.

- Assist with dining tasks, such as meal and snack preparation, serving, set-up, clean up, and dish washing. Eat meals with residents as designated.

- Assist residents with walking and directing between Lydias House locations, taking residents to the beauty shop, bed making, diet, hydration, and personal laundry as time allows or as needed.

- Monitor health status of residents and report changes to Administrator or nurse.

- Complete documentation as required.

- Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.

- Assist in planning therapeutic programming. Assist with outings if able.

- Attend in-services, and unit meetings. Attend out of facility educational sessions as directed.

- Attend patient care conferences if requested.

- Provide direction to volunteers working on the unit.

- Follow all Lydias House and Mennonite Village Policies.

- Know how to operate all equipment in Lydias House and report any problems.

- Report any safety issues as they relate to Lydias House.

- Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job.

- Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.

- Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

- Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.

- Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Ability to professionally handle emotional and behavioral changes in Lydias House residents and families.

* Ability to work with and communicate effectively with the elderly.

* Capable of lifting 10-100 lbs., with occasional lifting of residents weighing over 100 lbs.

* Ability to safely move frequently during workday, including carrying, lifting, standing, sitting, bending reaching, and kneeling.

* Ability to push and/or pull medication cart (50 lbs.) and other equipment.

* Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits

* Must be flexible and responsive to change on short notice.

* Sufficient English and language skills to follow instruction from staff. Must be able to understand and respond properly to residents needs.

* Ability to accurately document activities in writing.

* Self-motivated.

* Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in holiday activities.
