Compensation $61,000 to $70,000 annually based on year of experience and education.

*This range reflects Carestream's good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

The Technical Specialist (Level I or II, early career to associate level opening) is responsible for research, creation, updating and archiving of documentation. Create and/or edit documentation from technically complicated sources and transform into accurate and cost-effective deliverables in plain English. Use established content development processes and writing standards to ensure quality and client satisfaction. The specialist edits for a global audience, works independently or on teams, and multi-tasks to complete multiple projects. The specialist develops skills with advanced authoring tools, processes, and standards to stay current in their profession and with industry standards.
Ensures content quality through reviews and validation procedures.
Provides input to the project schedule by communicating the time required to deliver documentation.
Monitors hours spent against the project budget and communicating anticipated overages, changes in schedules, changes in scope.
Able to adjust priorities and workload to meet changes in schedules or scope.
Coordinates content deployment through formal Sitecore processes, including but not limited to engineering change notices, media production, and uploading to documentation portals.
Ensures our QMS Compliance, both created and owned Master Control Documents.
Other tasks and assignments as needed.

Key./Critical Competencies:
Ability to provide simple instructions from a complex source with text and graphics.
Experience writing for multiple, global audiences to create and deliver appropriate levels of content detail.
Understanding of configuration management and document control.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Word.
Ability to work independently or on a team.
Ability to manage multiple assignments with deadlines (as an individual or team contributor).
Ability to track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ability to handle the full scope of a project with minimal supervision.

Required Skills & Education:
BS/BA in English, Journalism, Communication and/or technical degree with a strong emphasis on writing.
3+ years directly relevant experience in writing software and hardware instructions.
Excellent computer skills particularly MS Office Suite of Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
Organized, Multitasking, Problem solving, Planning and Analytical skills.
Professional and diplomatic with both internal and external clients.
Experience in a technical position - mechanical, electrical, software - or service technician (preferred).

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of a QMS system, such as Master Control.
