As Maritime Senior Safety Manager, you lead efforts to foster a safety-first culture within the Maritime Department and broader port community by effectively communicating safety protocols, advocating for regulatory compliance, and implementing data-driven strategies for risk mitigation. You demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills, overseeing safety-related functions, managing emergency preparedness, and ensuring continuous improvement in safety programs. With a commitment to excellence and attention to detail, you collaborate with stakeholders to safeguard maritime infrastructure, promote operational safety, and protect the well-being of employees and the public.

What you will do:Promote safety culture through proactive engagement, training, and collaboration, representing Maritime Department interests.Identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.Oversee Maritime safety functions, including supervision, leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage Maritime infrastructure condition monitoring, data analysis, and fire life safety programs.

5+ years experience in operations and administration within maritime facilities, with 5 years managing safety programs and supervising direct reports.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Familiarity with OSHA Regulations 1910, 1917, 1918, and 1926, as well as Maritime safety regulations, and Safety Management Systems.Strong communication skills across all levels, from front-line employees to executive management.*Click here for detailed job description
