The Shift Supervisor will be a key role in supervising the overall day-to-day, performance, coordination, and management of production, of the specified shift to assist in obtaining safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service, and profitability for the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitors employee's productivity and assists employees with troubleshooting and work process problems
- Identifies and assigns work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
- Communicates issues to the operations manager and identifies areas for improvement
- Assists the operations manager with the development and execution of safety plans
- Administers company policies including attendance tracking and monitoring
- Provides coaching for improved performance
- Prepares reports on accidents/incidents that happen during the shift
- Plans and schedules necessary downtime with the maintenance department
- Ensures employee Health and Safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations, company policies, and regulations
- Understands, promotes, and operates by overall company vision, values, goals, objectives, and strategies
- Organizes training for equipment operators to improve their competencies
- Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed of safety and production issues
- Assumes "ownership" of production processes, Dryer and Screening, Packaging, Wet Process
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, and Skills: - MSHA Part 46 training (24-hour course) before starting position (trainingon safety and site-specific hazards)
- ISO training
- Problem Analysis - must be a logical thinker and possess good troubleshooting abilities (quick thinker and decisive in direction)
- Able to troubleshoot
- Understand basic math concepts
