The Shift Supervisor will be a key role in supervising the overall day-to-day, performance, coordination, and management of production, of the specified shift to assist in obtaining safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service, and profitability for the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitors employee's productivity and assists employees with troubleshooting and work process problems
  • Identifies and assigns work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Communicates issues to the operations manager and identifies areas for improvement
  • Assists the operations manager with the development and execution of safety plans
  • Administers company policies including attendance tracking and monitoring
  • Provides coaching for improved performance
  • Prepares reports on accidents/incidents that happen during the shift
  • Plans and schedules necessary downtime with the maintenance department
  • Ensures employee Health and Safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations, company policies, and regulations
  • Understands, promotes, and operates by overall company vision, values, goals, objectives, and strategies
  • Organizes training for equipment operators to improve their competencies
  • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed of safety and production issues
  • Assumes "ownership" of production processes, Dryer and Screening, Packaging, Wet Process
  • Additional duties as assigned


Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • MSHA Part 46 training (24-hour course) before starting position (trainingon safety and site-specific hazards)
  • ISO training
  • Problem Analysis - must be a logical thinker and possess good troubleshooting abilities (quick thinker and decisive in direction)
  • Able to troubleshoot
  • Understand basic math concepts
