Job Description:

The CAD Operator - Field role at OSJL is a field technician responsible for providing 3D scans, plans and drawings using computer-aided design ("CAD") software and a 3D scanner. This role travels frequently and independently contributes to the planning and design of construction of new retail stores, tenant fit-out and improvements, and remodeling projects for existing stores across the Company's multi-state locations, including, but not limited to, leased spaces for tenants. The CAD Operator - Field role works closely with the Construction teams and Property Development leadership and associates, and works cross-functionally with Store Planning and Visual Merchandising departments to align priorities, corporate objectives, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret plans, collaborate with stakeholders, and visit and visually inspect sites to ensure accurate and feasible design solutions.
  • Independently perform 3D scans of real estate assets, translate data into 2D/3D AutoCAD drawings, and maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Identify and communicate potential design issues, contribute to plan discussions, and incorporate feedback into drawings.
  • Maintain expertise in 3D scanning technology and software, updating drawings as needed.
  • Attend project status meetings, participate in goal setting, and work independently under remote conditions, if applicable.
  • Aid in developing and maintaining CAD detail libraries and design standards. Provide recommendations for process improvements and departmental efficiencies.
  • Serve as project liaison between internal teams and external design and engineering consultants.


Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Certificate in AutoCAD is preferred.
  • 2 years of professional experience in AutoCAD or related software is preferred; Applied knowledge and use of 3D features is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a real estate and/or retail environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand scopes of work is required.
  • Familiarity with construction terminology and basic understanding of built environments is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with web-based project management software applications is required.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel; and proficient with Google platform (i.e. Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).


Work Environment:

  • Travel and work from the road approximately 75% of the time.
  • Periodic overnight and weekend assignments may be required.
  • Some work in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard
    potential. Some sedentary work and near vision use for reading and computer use.

The annual salary range for this position is between $45,000-$55,000.Salary commensurates with experience.
