**Application Server Administrator**
**Full Job Title:** Application Server Administrator **Job Number:** R2201-29315 **Location:** Indiana; Remote **Date Posted:** 01/25/2022 OneMain Financial is looking for candidates interested in a Application Server Administrator position with our Applications Systems Infrastructure Team.
You will provide web services administration and support services, focusing on server maintenance, application installation, security, automation, and management.
You should be familiar with Web Application Processes and Enterprise Application Administration.
You will report directly to the Infrastructure Manager and will work with other administrators and analysts in the Application Infrastructure department to provide the company-wide support, and administration required to meet the diverse needs of the entire organization.
**Responsibilities:**
* Proactively monitor application hardware platforms for potential performance and capacity concerns.
* Apply preventative maintenance and upgrades on servers and application environments.
* Perform installations, maintenance, patching, and performance tuning of applications.
* Develop and support scripts and tools used for orchestration and automation tasks.
* Coordinate with multiple development groups throughout the application lifecycle for test, debugging and implementation.
* Monitor, maintain, and resolve Level 2/3 support tickets, documenting all activities performed in ticket resolution.
* Identify common and/or repetitive issues and document to allow for cross-training and improved support.
* Update infrastructure and technical documentation.
* Communicate with management and recommend changes or improvements.
**Required Qualifications:**
* 2+ years of IT administration experience.
* Some College
* Energetic, organized, and skilled with todays technologies; willing to research and learn new technologies.
* Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-based environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Understanding of server systems, application processes, web development concepts and application deployment
* Familiar with networking concepts (e.g. routing, firewalls, proxies) and technologies (e.g. HTTP, TLS, Apache)
* Familiar with design and architectural patterns of microservices
* Familiar with authentication and authorization patterns used by multi-platform applications
* Familiar with the Linux operating system (command line usage)
* Ability to work flexible hours; some off-hours support is required.
* Ability and willingness to share 24x7 on call support obligations
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Bachelors degree in Information Systems or another IT-related field.
* 5+ years of IT administration experience.
* Experience and/or knowledge of the following: Websphere, Mulesoft, HTTP Server (Apache), Red Hat Linux, TCP/IP, TLS, LDAP, Python, Node.js, DB2, SQL.
* Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), CI/CD pipeline processes, Grafana, Prometheus, and Elasticsearch, is a plus
